Abeta discloses 2014 Summit lectures timetable

Themed “Outdoor Life,” event will take place during 42nd ABAV - International Tourism Expo and have panels for consumers

The Brazilian Association of Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism (Abeta) has disclosed the 2014 Abeta Summit lectures timetable. Themed “Outdoor Life,” the novelty this year will be the panels open to the public with tips about preservation, destinations and conscious tourism. This event will be held during the 42nd ABAV – International Tourism Expo, from September 24 to 28 at the Anhembi Exhibition Pavillion in São Paulo, Brazil.

In order to repeat the success of the 2013 edition, the Summit will start with two days of lectures. Among the topics to be discussed will be the World Cup, safety technical standards, and the importance of digital tools for the work of professionals in this industry.

On the second day, the centerpiece will be the members meeting to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the association and elect the new board.

For the third and last day, the Abeta prepared a special program, since the event will be open to the public. Industry professionals will introduce new destinations and activities, discuss different ways of traveling, and address the importance of preserving national parks and conservation units.

The event’s schedule is as follows:

September 25

Opening panel: Nature tourism in Brazil after the World Cup


Time: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Overview: Market leaders will discuss the challenges and opportunities of the ecotourism and adventure tourism sector in Brazil after the World Cup. How to take advantage of the country’s visibility and create new businesses, and the sector’s perspectives.

Lecture: Productive creativity

Time: 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Overview: Experienced industry professionals will talk about how to create new products, explore markets, and expand revenue.

Lecture: SGS, technical standards, and Marketing plan

Time: 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Overview: Stay up-to-date and keep your business competitive, safe, and aligned with the latest local and international legislation.

Lecture: Digital communication tools: How to effectively use them

Time: 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Overview: How to creatively use digital communication tools. Discover the power of social networks for your business.

September 26

Abeta Meeting


Time: 10 a.m.

Lecture: Creative cooperation for the development of destinations

Time: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Overview:Learn from who is joining the forces of the private initiative and the government to promote and sustainably develop tourist destinations.

Closing panel: National parks, which are assets of the Brazilian society to celebrate the outdoor life.

Time: 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Overview: How national parks and other conservation units can create knowledge, income, and taxes for the whole society.

September 27 (open to the public)

Lecture: Adventure traveling and ecotourism for kids and elders


Time: 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Overview: How to travel with different generations in a safe and fun manner for all.

Lecture: Fun and safety. Inmetro standard-certified Tourism

Time: 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Overview: Learn about the new Brazilian and international technical standards (ABNT/ISO) for adventure tourism and ecotourism. Learn how to enjoy your trip in a fun and safe manner.

Lecture: This park is yours. Public use of conservation units.

Time: 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Overview: National parks are the theme of this inspiring lecture, which brings data and ideas on the public use of conservation units.

Lecture: Rediscovering Brazil

Time: 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Overview: A fun presentation of the least known places of Brazilian tourism. Come get inspired to explore Brazil.
